Make hbase-examples module
Review Request #7626 - Created Oct. 17, 2012 and updated
I'd prefer to move the remaining examples into the module as a next step, because this is already too big. Or I can keep working on the same patch, but if something intervenes there's a risk of this sitting around in JIRA The patch: 1) Creates the module. 2) Ports the mapreduce examples as is. 3) Ports, adds thrift-generated code, and touches up thrift (not thrift2 yet) examples: a) Java example builds and runs "out of the box". b) Perl/PHP/Ruby/Python examples run, but some of them are out of date: they bail out when something that should produce error doesn't. I found some old Jira-s to fix that for Java and CPP; these should be updated similarly. I think this should also be a separate Jira (or -s). c) CPP example cannot be built in mvn in absence of native thrift/boost, so it's copied in sources and user can set up the above and run `make`.
